Animation Summer Course

Animation Summer Course - week1

On the 17th June, I ran the first week of an animation summer course with a help by Arisa chan.

The purpose is to learn how to make a simple animation by using tools and materials that you can easily find and use. We used some colourful play doughs to experience the shape transforms. To shape the dough and to transform it in a right pace, we needed to try and see a few times. The students quickly understood that the less the changes you make the smoother the movement you get. The last animations of each teams were much more professional! There were a story such as a rabbit eaten by a snake and the snake eaten by a butterfly. And a girl picking many apples in a forest. And angel and her friends gathering... How fun!

Next session is about cut-out animations using collage technique!

The workshop was held by Mai Yoshida at Studio 106 Art Gallery in Fulham. Studio 106 Art Gallery 106 Dawes Road SW6 7EG +44(0)20 7385 5618 www.studio106artgallery.org
